As many people talk about their Memorial Day plans of BBQ’s and golf games, your weekend might involve a trip to the cemetery to visit your deceased loved one’s grave or to a service honoring those who have died.
Often times the anticipation of these special days are more difficult than the day itself.
Make a plan in advance, even if the plan is to stay in bed all day. At least you know what you will be doing on that day that looms ahead. If you are up for it, honor your loved one by eating one of their favorite foods, looking at photographs, or listening to music they enjoyed. Perform a ritual to remember them – plant a flower, release a balloon, light a candle.
Your Memorial Day might not be filled with hot dogs and ice cream but it can be filled with wonderful memories of your loved one.
